Visual Focus was selected by QANTAS to supply and operate the sound, screens, staging  and media distribution for the launch of the brand new pilot training academy at Wellcamp Airport, near Toowoomba.

With media coming to the Darling Downs from all of the major national news outlets and a VIP attendance list with local, state and federal government representatives including the Premier of QLD Anastasia Palaszczuk and QANTAS CEO Allen Joyce.

With the eyes of Australia on the event, a high level of detail and execution was demanded by all involved.  Again, Visual Focus rose to the challenge of delivering a seamless event.

Holding the launch in an aircraft hanger brings a number of audio-visual challenges, most notably the acoustics of the space.  To ensure all the news outlets could get clear and intelligible audio for their news bulletins, Visual Focus supplied a media splitter to give each network a direct audio line from the lectern mic.  This avoided the need for each media agency to place their own microphone on the lectern, keeping the camera shot clean and clear of obstruction to the person speaking and the branding on the front.

Visual Focus supplied additional LCD screens throughout the facility, to enhance branding and carry video content including construction timelapse videos to colour the event for guests and media alike.
