Wilsonton State High School Performing Arts Centre

The Wilsonton State High School Growth 2022 project represented the first major project delivered in the region by Bryant’s Toowoomba office.

The mammoth project  encompassed 3 separable portions covering the construction and refurbishment of 7 buildings – 3 new, 3 existing and an infill variation

  • SP1 – new two-storey GLC building with post PC infill package featuring 6 classrooms, a staffroom and 450m2 covered learning area.
  • SP2 – refurbishment of the existing Manual Arts, Home Economics and Arts & Drama buildings.
  • SP3 – new two-storey state of the art Performing Arts Centre

Visual Focus worked closely with Bryant Building Contractors to deliver an extensive high-quality audio-visual system tailored specifically to the requirements of the school.

A full Crestron Control system with touch screens throughout the venue was installed to give control over all video routing, and let teachers have easy control over audio sources and microphones during normal classroom use of the space. It also allows the system to be operated in an advanced mode, where the Allen & Heath SQ6 and Chamsys consoles take over control of the system.

The audio-visual system consisted of various Show Technology Australia & New Zealand lighting fixtures, highly intelligible Shure wireless microphones, an ALLEN & HEATH SQ6 audio mixing console, various sizing of LED TVs, an Epson high lumen laser projector, flown dBTechnologies line array & subwoofers, various Crestron tablets for convenient control of the system.
